More Bodhrán"Acadia" by Chris Gray
Fáilte and welcome! I'm a piper, percussionist, and painter hailing from Portland, Maine. I specialize in the Irish Uilleann Pipes, Scottish Smallpipes, and Bodhrán. I've performed throughout New England and Ireland, with highlights opening for the Chieftains at the Cork Opera House, performing with Août Gris at the Acadian World Congress, and playing alongside legendary EJ Jones and Frances Cunningham at the Piper's Gathering.
In addition to performing, I also teach classes and workshops in Traditional Irish and Scottish music. I studied music and art at Bowdoin College, and received my Masters in Ethnomusicology from University College Cork in Ireland. I have had the privilege of studying under some of today's greatest pipers, including Cillian Vallely and Caoimhín Ó Fearghail.
